Atlanta, US, Jul 15 (EFE).- Argentina advanced to the finals and eliminated England from the World Cup on Wednesday, achieving a 2-1 victory with a strong comeback in the final seven minutes.

England took the lead with a goal by Anthony Gordon in the 55th minute, but the Three Lions could not withstand the vigorous comeback by the Qatar 2022 World Cup champions.

Enzo Fernández scored for Argentina in the 85th minute, followed by Lautaro Martínez’s goal in the 92nd minute.

The team’s performance was strong, with Jordan Pickford’s goalkeeping proving crucial in securing England’s lead. However, substitutions and a tactical approach by Lionel Messi’s team shifted the balance of the match, leading to Argentina’s comeback.

The final of the 23rd World Cup, the highly anticipated 104th match, will be played on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
