The Senate on Wednesday condemned the recent killings and destruction of property in communities across Benue South Senatorial District, directing the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and other security chiefs to track down those responsible and ensure they face justice.

The resolution followed the adoption of an urgent motion sponsored by the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro (Benue South), over renewed attacks on communities in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

The latest resolution comes amid growing concerns over persistent attacks by suspected armed groups in parts of Benue State, where repeated killings and displacement have continued despite security interventions.

Moving the motion, Moro called for immediate action by security agencies to halt the violence.
