Caleb Shomo, lead singer of the rock band Beartooth, and his wife Fleur Shomo have jointly filed for divorce after 14 years of marriage. The New York Post’s Page Six broke news of the split Wednesday, though Fleur Shomo had alluded to her dissolution of her marriage in a May 23 Instagram post the same day that her husband publicly came out as gay. In a podcast interview last month, the musician also referred to her as his “then-wife.” The couple have been married since 2012 and do not have any children. A Columbus, Ohio, native, Caleb Shomo founded Beartooth in 2012. The band is gearing up to release its sixth studio album, “Pure Ecstasy,” next month. On May 23, the singer-songwriter addressed his queer sexuality in an emotional Instagram post, writing: “There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further. I am a proudly gay man.”“I spend a decade burying feelings with alcohol, and honestly when I decided to put it down and focus on why I felt this way for so long, it’s been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality in hopes that it will eventually lead to me experiencing self love,” he continued. “I believe it’s impossible to love every part of you when you won’t face every part of you head on. I am trying to finally be proud of who I am and I think this is a massive part of that journey.” Beartooth singer-songwriter Caleb Shomo came out as “a proudly gay man” in May. I already miss it & my husband more than anything. Our story was a good one. And now it’s done.” She concluded her post by pledging to “continue living my life trying to achieve what I want to achieve.”“I’m sure things will slowly get better, day by day, piece by small piece, bird by bird,” she added.
