The Osun State Government has disbursed the second phase of compensation to property owners affected by the ongoing Iwo township road dualisation project.
The compensation was presented on Wednesday by a state delegation led by the Director of Acquisition and Compensation in the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, Tope Falope, during a meeting with beneficiaries at the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi.
Representing the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Falope said the payment was made despite the state’s financial constraints, adding that the government remained committed to settling all outstanding compensation.
“The fresh payment was made under tight financial conditions of the state government,” he said, assuring beneficiaries that the government would complete the compensation process as quickly as possible.
