Three members of a four-member family, including an infant, were killed after their car collided with a fuel tanker in Halkidiki, northern Greece, on Wednesday afternoon.

The mother and baby died at the scene, while the father of the family, traveling in a car bearing Moldovan license plates, succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a hospital in Polygyros.

The family’s other child, a minor, was hospitalized for treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the crash, which occurred on the Polygyros-Agios Nikolaos regional highway, remain under investigation.
