President Volodymyr Zelensky said he hopes Ukraine will receive licenses to manufacture missiles for Patriot air defense systems by the end of 2026.
The President made the statement following the Ukraine–Southeast Europe Summit, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We have a political agreement (referring to the agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump – ed.), and we expect that by the end of 2026 we will have the technical ability for a Ukrainian team to produce American missiles using our own capabilities," Zelensky said.
He added that Ukraine has separate agreements with European Union countries, specifically France and Italy, regarding licenses to manufacture SAMP/T systems.
"We reached an agreement with the French side, and the Italian side supported the relevant decisions," the President said.
