Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey’s ‘Sunday in the Park With George’ Revival Delays Ticket Sales Until Fall

Ticket sales for Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey’s revival of “Sunday in the Park With George” in London have been delayed until fall.

However, the show is still going ahead as planned next summer.

Originally tickets were set to go on sale in May but Variety understands the producers have decided to wait until Grande wraps “The Eternal Sunshine Tour,” which she is currently taking around the U.S., to launch sales. The tour is set to conclude on Sept. 1 with a 10-night residency at the O2 Arena in London, U.K.

“Tickets for ‘Sunday In The Park With George’ are expected to go on-sale in the autumn, after her tour comes to an end,” a source tells Variety.

Grande will star as both Dot and Marie in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s beloved musical, following in the footsteps of Bernadette Peters, who originated the double-role in the inaugural 1983 production. Bailey will play George Seurat, whose famous painting, “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” inspired the musical.
