Major indexes are rising modestly today following several positive earnings reports.

BlackRock reported bumper second-quarter results and assets under management above $15 trillion for the first time. Shares of the world's largest asset manager are rallying, as are the shares of competitors KKR, Ares Management and Blackstone.

And chip-machine supplier ASML delivered an encouraging report card on the AI boom. The Dutch company, which makes the world's most advanced chip-making equipment, reported record orders in its latest quarter and lifted its sales guidance for the second time.

Still, ASML shares pared gains and semiconductor stocks in the U.S. are broadly lower in morning trading.
