California parole officials refused Beausoleil's release for another three years, continuing a protracted legal battle that has seen Governor Gavin Newsom overturn two previous parole grants. Gary Hinman's cousin, Kay Hinman Martley, expressed relief at the decision and intends to urge Governor Newsom to uphold the denial.
