While tales of guests finding hidden cameras in their rooms have emerged over the years, coming across an previously-captured image of yourself is an entirely different matter.Aubrey Birrell, who rented a property in San Diego, California with her family of four, explained in a subsequent TikTok video that the "weirdest thing happened" during their stay. Along with her sister, she said was walking around the Airbnb when they came across a photograph on the wall, which their dad joked that one of the people in it resembled him.She recalled: "It's a random Airbnb... we're looking through it... we have no connections to it and my dad is like, 'this looks like me'."The large image in question featured several people at the beach, some of whom were swimming in the sea. After dismissing her father's thoughts initially, Aubrey soon realised that her sister also appeared in the photo.Content cannot be displayed without consentShe added: "This was 10 years ago - and there's my brother, Brady as well. They are literally in the Airbnb picture."Her sister interjected: "We still have those swimsuits... we are literally in this picture. We are on our Airbnb wall!" And Aubrey closed: "It's the craziest thing... this can't be real."Writing in response, one TikTok user joked: "So the owners do a deep dive on your family and print out family portraits you have posted online, to make the house feel homey and welcoming."A second person pondered: "Everyone’s scared but I’d take it as a sign that you were meant to be there, I think that’s so cool!"A third recalled a similar story: "I once checked into a hotel at the beach, in the middle of a thunderstorm. I grabbed a newspaper to hold over my head. When I got to the room, I looked at the paper and there was a pic of my mum and I on the front page. It was from a festival in the beach town, 3 years before!"While a fourth shared: "Similar crazy story: my uncle got a postcard from Mackinac Island, and my grandfather was randomly in the photo eating an ice cream cone. He had passed away years earlier."Meanwhile a fifth TikTok user said she was left feeling more "concerned".Article continues below"But where was the picture taken?" she asked. "And from what angle exactly I’m so totally intrigued. Did this person print the picture that they took themselves or did they buy this somewhere? This is highly concerning."Choose Daily Mirror as a 'Preferred Source' on Google News for quick access to the news you value.Umm what?AirbnbTikTokCheap hotels
