MILAN — Gucci Racing has named Tancredi Vitale its vice president, effective Sept. 1, joining from the Venezia Football Club, where he served as managing director.
He has built his career in sports brands ranging from Kappa and Adidas Y-3 with Yohji Yamamoto to Nike and Jordan. Over more than 13 years at Nike’s headquarters in Portland, Ore., he held a series of increasingly senior leadership roles across the organization.
“Vitale’s international experience, strategic vision and deep knowledge of the sports industry will be invaluable as Gucci develops this new venture and unlocks the full potential of Gucci Racing as a global platform,” Gucci said in a statement.
At Gucci Racing, Vitale will work closely with Giovanni Perosino, who will continue to lead this strategic initiative as senior vice president of Gucci Racing, alongside his responsibilities as SVP of marketing at Gucci. Perosino joined Gucci in December from Maserati, where he was global chief marketing officer, and before that worked at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Audi, Lamborghini and ITA Airways.
In May, Gucci revealed it had signed on as title partner of the Alpine Formula 1 Team, which beginning with the 2027 season will compete in Gucci colors under the banner Gucci Racing Alpine Formula 1 Team.
