The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Africa has appointed strategic communications consultant Njideka Agbo as Director of the West Africa Interest Group, giving her responsibility for strengthening engagement among communications professionals across the region.

The appointment is part of the association’s newly constituted regional executive board, which is tasked with supporting the growth of the communications profession across Africa through collaboration, professional development and knowledge sharing.

In her new role, Agbo will work to increase participation among communications professionals in West Africa, expand learning opportunities, strengthen professional networks and improve the region’s connection with IABC’s global community. She will also work with the regional leadership team to create platforms that encourage the exchange of ideas and support the continued development of strategic communications across the sub-region.

The new executive board is led by Chair Christine Breet and Vice Chair Nkem Emezie-Ejinima, and includes communications professionals responsible for governance, finance, professional development, awards and regional engagement.
