Pauline Figuet / Getty ImagesJuly 15, 2026 4:35 am EDT Updated London City Lionesses have completed the signing of France international Kadidiatou Diani from Lyon.Diani, 31, has joined on a three-year deal through to 2029.She becomes the latest high-profile addition London City have made this summer, following the arrivals of two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas, her Spain team-mate Mapi Lyon, and former England goalkeeper Mary Earps.“It’s an independent club and very ambitious,” Diani said in a club press release. “It’s something which is quite rare in women’s football and something I believe in a lot.“We don’t necessarily need to depend on a men’s club to compete at the highest level, win titles and have a lot of success. I believe in the project.”The move sees Diani move between two Michele Kang-owned clubs, after the U.S. businesswoman completed the purchase of London City in February 2024. She also owns NWSL side Washington Spirit.Diani joined Lyon from PSG in 2023 and she won three successive Division 1 Feminine titles, in addition to reaching the Champions League final on two occasions. She was the competition’s top scorer in 2023-24 with eight goals.The winger has been capped 126 times by France and was an important part of the side that reached the 2022 European Championship semi-finals and World Cup quarter-finals the following year. Her move to London City will reunite her with France team-mate Delphine Cascarino, who moved to the Women’s Super League club in January.London City finished sixth in the WSL last season, their debut campaign in the women’s top flight.
