The Greater Chennai Police, on Tuesday (July 14, 2026), arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the alleged attempt to bribe Usilampatti Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA Vijay M.On Tuesday, the police arrested the accused Ganesan (41) of Usilampatti in Madurai district. Ganesan had allegedly negotiated with an associate of the TVK MLA from Usilampatti in an attempt to influence the legislator’s vote during the proposed resolution against the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar, said the police.Ganesan was produced before a court on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is under way.
