Abu Dhabi Police have issued a stark warning about e-scooter misuse, sharing footage of a crash involving a rider and passenger struck by a car.
E-scooters are banned on roads with speed limits of 60kph or more, with permitted zones including Reem Island, Yas Island and parts of the Corniche.
Riders must be at least 16, cannot carry passengers, and are restricted to a maximum speed of 20kph.
Police urged parents to ensure children wear helmets, knee and elbow pads, and comply with all e-scooter regulations.
