It kicks off a harrowing new storyline, which shares the dangers of non-fatal strangulation.In hospital, it is confirmed that Betsy has suffered a stroke caused by a blood clot. It was caused by neck artery damage from a temporary loss of circulation. She suffers a second stroke and soon comes clean about what happened.Explaining how her partner Dylan (Liam McCheyne) strangled her during consensual sex, Betsy will now have to deal with a challenging future ahead with her life changing forever. The storyline will share how Betsy's diagnosis has a profound physical and emotional impact on her as she struggles to cope with her new reality.Kate Brooks, Producer of Coronation Street, said: "Coronation Street has always pushed boundaries when it comes to telling challenging, thought-provoking stories, and this story is no exception.
