With bars from 25 cities, the longlist for Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026 is a teaser of what is to come at the end of the month. The 51-100 spots for top bars in the continent were released on July 14 and it features two bars from India. The top 50 will be awarded in a ceremony in Macau on 28 July 2026, and several Indian bars are expected to make the cut. As we wait for that, here is the longlist for Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026, and the trendsComing in at number 51 is Bar Outrigger from Goa. Located near Dona Paula, this nautical-themed bar was also awarded the third best bar in 30 Best Bars India last year. It has an expansive cocktail menu with drinks such as Tiki Negroni and Oaxacan Presidente. Co-founder Arijit Bose says, “It’s always amazing as a bar team to be recognised for the work and the vibe. The team is super stoked. Outrigger is a quaint fun bar and those who find their way to us are always surprised that there are more than just cocktails that can be enjoyed here.”On number 85 is a new entry, Delhi-based Aabbcc. The concept bar has a retro futurist style and was started by the same team behind Lair, which came in at number 8 in last year’s list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars. Speaking about the feature, Aditi Singh, co-founder, AABBCC says, “What has gotten us here is believing in an idea so unique, and secondly our team. This win is for everyone. You work hard every single day, the team has worked over hours, worked towards impeccable service, and to bring something new to India.”As last year seven Indian bars make the whole list, it will be no surprise if we see some familiar names crop up in the finale. Faye Huggett, Director of Community for Asia’s 50 Best Bars, says in a release, “It is inspiring to see the continuing emergence of establishments paying homage to their local cultures and native ingredients on this year’s 51-100 list. From Mainland China to Southeast Asia and the Indian sub-continent, innovative professionals are showing there are no limits to creative cocktails.”Singapore leading the wayBars from Singapore take up seven spots on the list, with new entry BOP (No 52), a Korean style bar. The Elephant Room in Singapore is a love letter to Indian culture, and it comes in at No 58. It is founded by Yugnes ‘Yugi’ Susela, a bartender with Tamil roots from the Chettinad region. “I was always fascinated by the depth of flavours in Indian cuisine — the warmth of cardamom, the earthiness of turmeric, the punch of fresh curry leaves — and I wanted to see how they could be reimagined in cocktails,” he told The Hindu in an earlier interview.Tokyo, Seoul and Bangkok are other cities that feature prominently on the list. Kuala Lumpur’s Cabinet 8 is a new entry on the list at number 65. The speakeasy in the city’s vibrant Chinatown is hidden behind cabinets. It uses traditional Malay ingredients in its cocktails. Reka: bar on number 63 is a self-described post-modern flavour lab. Joel Poon, co-owner of Reka told The Hindu, “We explore forgotten recipes or techniques for our cocktails.” The city’s presence on the list establishes it as a serious cocktail destination. Hong Kong comes in on the list with The Savory Project (No 60), The Opposites (Number 54) and Tell Camellia (No 81).Emerging destinations such as Ropewalk from Galle and Raa in Hiriketiya, Sri Lanka, Barc from Katmandu, and Hangzhou’s The Chimeny take up space on the list pointing towards the culture moving into newer spaces.
