Sulvinder Samra and the television medic married in 2005 before divorcing in 2011, two years after he came out to her as gay.Following a recent interview, in which the doctor discussed their separation and his sexuality, Sulvinder has now appeared on the Suddenly Single podcast to share her side of the story.During the episode, she opened up about the moment she realised her marriage was in trouble, how she coped with the split, and was also asked about Dr Ranj's current relationship.The former This Morning star went public with his partner, actor James Colebrook, in 2024 and the pair have since shared updates about their romance on social media.Asked about his relationship and whether she still has any contact with her former spouse, Sulvinder revealed she had cut him out of her life and had no interest in knowing about his love life."I don't know who James is, I don't know anything about Ranj's life. That's the truth," she revealed.The nervous system coach added that, following their split, she decided to block him on social media."You decide how can I take control of this? And I chose not to know whatever Ranj was doing because I didn't see it to benefit myself," she explained."You do the usual things, you block on Instagram and what have you, so I don't know anything about him."Sulvinder, who revealed she is currently single, went on to say that she only sees her ex-husband when he appears in the press discussing their marriage.She first discovered an article about his sexuality in 2015, when he did his first major public interview with Attitude magazine.In an interview in May, Dr Ranj revealed that he told a close friend he was gay when he was around 30 years old, before later opening up to his wife and family.Speaking to The Big Issue, he admitted he was scared of accepting his sexuality which he discovered through therapy, and worried about his life "falling apart".Breaking the news to his family was "another level", he added, although he recalled his brothers responding positively.According to Sulvinder, there was "no discussion" between her and the doctor about him being gay before their split, with her claiming she "got to know" through mutual friends.She went on to say that the final year of their marriage "had been difficult" and that, while she did not know at the time that her husband was gay, "it felt like there was a huge disconnect".Article continues belowReflecting on the aftermath of the split, she added: "I did feel really unattractive. I questioned a lot. You go down this little rabbit hole as a woman, like, 'Well, why did he fall in love with me? What was it about me that he said he fell in love with?'"You just question everything. And also, some people don't always say nice things either behind your back or to your face about the fact that your ex-husband is gay. So, yeah, it was difficult."
