Vusi Moyo is among the Sharks youngesters who excelled in the Springbok colours in Gqeberha recently.
Vusi Moyo says that he could not be better prepared for his Springbok debut on Saturday against Wales in Durban because he has the best three flyhalves in the world in his corner.
Just 18 months ago, the 20-year-old was still at school at KES in Johannesburg; he has played just one game for the Sharks; and now the Junior Springbok is about to become the senior incarnation. He says having Handre Pollard, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Manie Libbok in camp with him over the last six weeks has accelerated his apprenticeship.
“Handre Pollard is a guy I have been looking up to for a long time,” he said. “And Manie’s game shaped how I played at high school. In more recent years, obviously Sacha has been playing well. Those three guys I have looked up to, and all three have been helping me this week. It is very special to know I have those guys behind me.
“And they are all different, yet all are up there as the best flyhalves in the world,” the youngster explained. “Whatever they advise me to do, I will do it. It is every kid’s dream to meet their heroes. When I met Handre, I had the biggest smile on my face.”
