A bill proposing a significant strengthening of anti-Russian sanctions has been submitted to the U.S. Senate. It was promoted by Republican Lindsey Graham.

CBS stated this in an article, Ukrinform reports.

"A bipartisan group of senators introduced a bill championed by Sen. Lindsey Graham that would impose sanctions on top Russian figures and heavy tariffs on the biggest buyers of Russian oil," the report says.

It is noted that the text of the bill was finalized shortly before Lindsey Graham met with Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv last week.

About 30 senators have already publicly said they are ready to support the bill, which could be approved before Congress goes on its August recess.
