Kallas condemns IOC's decision to lift restrictions on athletes from Russia

The European Union condemns the International Olympic Committee’s decision to temporarily reinstate the Russian Olympic Committee.

This was stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, Ukrinform reports, citing The Guardian.

According to her, the IOC is turning a blind eye to reality with this decision, as it coincides with Russia’s killing of a record number of Ukrainian civilians.

Kallas said that it looked as if the International Olympic Committee was rewarding such attacks.

As Ukrinform reported, on July 7 the IOC decided to temporarily reinstate the Russian Olympic Committee.
