Trainees enrolled on the Technical and Vocational Education and Training at the Federal Polytechnic Daura in Katsina State have lamented the failure of the Federal Ministry of Education to settle their training allowances.
Some of the trainees who spoke to The PUNCH in Kano on Tuesday decried the prolonged delay in the payment of trainees’ allowances without any official explanation.
One of the affected trainees, Abdullahi Mohammad, said the silence surrounding the non-payment of the allowances and the grant as promised by the organisers had created frustration among the affected trainees.
Mohammed said, “They promised to give us allowances, a grant and a certificate after graduation. But none of these was given to us.
“If they had given us what they promised us (grants), after the training, our story would have been different by now because we would have put those skills to efficient use.”
