The Rivers State House of Assembly has summoned the management of Heirs Energies Limited to appear before it over a petition filed by the Omuohia Community in Igwuruta Town, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.
The House said the company’s management must appear before the lawmakers on Monday, 20th July, 2026, at 10:00 am at the House of Assembly Quarters, where plenary is being held temporarily.
The lawmakers’ letter dated July 7, 2026, was signed by the Clerk of the House, Dr Emeka Amadi and addressed to the company’s Managing Director; a copy was sighted by our correspondent.
The Martin Amaewhule-led state legislature said the summons became necessary following the company’s repeated failure to honour invitations by its Committee on Public Complaints and Petitions.
The House said it decided after considering the report of the House Committee on Public Complaints and Petitions during the Fourth Legislative Sitting of the Fourth Session of the 10th Assembly.
