The Bauchi State Police Command has ordered a full-scale investigation into the alleged killing of a 20-year-old man by police personnel attached to a police outpost under the Misau Division in Misau Local Government Area.

The command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement made available on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the command’s attention was drawn to reports circulating on social media alleging that operatives at the police outpost assaulted a young man while interrogating him in connection with a case under investigation.

The police identified the deceased as Abdullahi Adamu, 20, of Sebore Village, Hardawa District.

Habib said the victim was initially admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Misau, before being referred to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where he died on Sunday, July 12, 2026, while receiving treatment.
