Fans of Oliver Tree will be able to join in at his celebration of life, which is taking place next weekend and will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person22:35, 14 Jul 2026Oliver Tree fans will be able to take part in his celebration-of-life service. The BRIT Award nominee tragically died aged just 32 last month, in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro.‌Tree, whose real name was Oliver Tree Nickel, along with director Lucas Vignale, Argentinian YouTuber Gaspar Prim, known to millions as Gaspi, DJ and producer Lucas Frota, along with pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac, were discovered in the city's Southwest district after two helicopters collided above an electric vehicle yard in Rio.‌The star, famed for hits including Miss You and Life Goes On, had been in South America for his The World's First Tour. Just days prior to his death, he had performed in São Paulo and was due to resume performing on July 1 in Lisbon, Portugal.‌His loved ones have now confirmed that his upcoming celebration-of-life service on July 25 will be livestreamed for fans. The service, which will be held at the Quarry Amphitheatre at UCSC in Santa Cruz, will commence at 7pm PT across his social media pages.The event will be ticketed in person for family and close friends, but fans of the late musician will be able to register on Tree's social media for a livestream link. A statement on his social media page reads: "Oliver Tree Nickell's Celebration of Life will be held at the Quarry Amphitheatre at UCSC July 25th.‌"We kindly ask that you respect the University and do not show up unless you already have a ticket. Friends and family of Oliver - if you have not been in contact yet, please get in touch with management for guest list."We will be live-streaming the event so that supporters, friends and family who cannot make it will still be able to watch and celebrate together. The livestream will begin around 7pm PST on Oliver's channels. Known as Oliver Tree, he was an artist, storyteller, singer, songwriter, producer, director, editor, actor, filmmaker, entertainer, traveller, and creative force; he had just performed in São Paulo as part of his 7-continent world tour."‌They went on to explain that, from a young age, Tree had demonstrated the "most astonishing and creative drive" and had started producing music and drawings at just five. In his teens, he DJ'ed under the name Kryph, opening for artists in the dance scene.He first shot to fame aged just 17, working with Skrillex and Zeds Dead, using the pseudonym Tree. Three years later, he released his debut independent record, Spilling Branches, and also joined the band Irony, taking lead vocals and guitar.‌His family added: "Oliver had a deep curiosity about the world and wanted to experience every country and culture. Over the past two years, Oliver was a global citizen, visiting over 100 countries: eating local cuisine; connecting with locals of all kinds; participating in ceremonies; giving concerts; and recording music on his laptop. He went to the Middle East, sailed in Antarctica and became an Honorary Maasai tribal chief in Tanzania."Oliver was more than a musician; he was a true artist in every sense of the word, seeing the world as a stage for his performance art. He pushed boundaries in every form of media and life. Oliver was on a mission to bring the world together through art and inspiring other artists to create. Being a forward thinker, Oliver created a non-profit entitled Dr. Oliver Tree's Extremely Epic Art Grant for Baby Geniuses. He wanted all of his money to go into funding other aspiring artists in all facets: music, film, installation and performance art projects."Having previously been signed by Atlantic Records, Tree announced earlier this year that he'd departed from the major label and his last record, Love You Madly Hate You Badly, would be released via his own label, Alien Boy Records.Article continues belowThe album was released on April 24.
