Anne Hathaway has announced she is expecting her third child with actor and producer husband Adam Shulman. The couple already share two sons21:15, 14 Jul 2026Anne Hathaway has said she was "shocked" to get pregnant so easily again at 43. The Devil Wears Prada actress recently announced she was expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman. The couple, who married in 2012, already share two sons together - Jonathan, 10, and six-year-old Jack. But when it came to trying for a third she thought they would find it harder to conceive with them both being in their 40s.To their surprise it happened quickly and the pair announced the happy news they would soon be a family of five in a sweet Instagram post in June. Keeping the announcement low key, Anne wore a white flowy dress that gave a glimpse of her growing bump. She simply captioned the post: "x Baby, I'm yours x."Appearing on the US talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers, Anne opened up about her third pregnancy and joked that while she and husband Adam "knew what they were doing", they were stunned to discover it had actually worked.Anne shared: "Oh, my gosh. It's amazing. It's amazing. I mean, we knew what we were doing, but we were so shocked it worked." The Hollywood star, who is appearing in new movie Odyssey opposite Matt Damon and Tom Holland, added: "We were so shocked it went this way, so we're calling this one our buzzer-beater."In another interview about her just released film, Anne gushed how she wants her sons to grow up to be as "wonderful" as her 30-year-old co-star Tom, whose mother she plays in the movie.Talking to E-talk, she was asked how she brought "mother energy" to the set. Anne responded: "Well, first of all, I have to say as a mum in real life, I very much hope all my children grow up to be as wonderful as my onscreen child."When she said that, Holland almost spit out his drink and laughed. Hathaway added that he was "like a dream son" and that he was key to her performance. "I just really like Tom," she continued.Over the years, Anne has kept her family life largely out of the spotlight. She previously explained this was because she didn't feel the need to let her motherhood intertwine with her showbiz career at any point. At the time, she said: "It's something I feel is not just essential for my health – I'm on a team, it's my family, and it's not just about me."My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives. It doesn't even occur to me to link the two up, except through gratitude that they serve each other so beautifully."In an interview with People magazine, glamorous Anne said that being a 'boy mom' had influenced her fashion choices and said: "I have to always be able to go from a serious business meeting to, like, a basketball court. You have to be able to play pickup basketball at any point, in any outfit. So, when you get dressed in the morning, dress wisely because you are 100 percent are going to have a projectile thrown at you by the end of breakfast."She also gushed about husband of 14 years Adam - who she says she fell in love with "at first sight" - and said: "He supports me completely. This year in particular was unusual. He and I both know that it's probably never going to happen like this again. And the way he stepped up. I mean, in every possible way. He's the most extraordinary person I've ever met."Article continues belowLike this story?
