July 14 (UPI) -- E. Jean Carroll announced Tuesday that she's received the $5 million a civil jury awarded her in 2023 after finding President Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming the writer.

In addition to the $5 million judgment, she received $625,005 in interest, CNBC reported.

"The eagle has landed," she titled a Substack post about receiving the funds. In the post she also thanked the lawyers who represented her over the years as well as Trump's former personal lawyer.

"And ... a special, special thanks to Alina Habba Esq.! I could not have done it without you," Carroll wrote.
