After redefining the box office for A24, Backrooms is making the jump from theaters to living rooms. The breakout sci-fi horror sensation has arrived on Prime Video and Apple TV as a premium video-on-demand (PVOD), giving audiences the chance to watch the year’s most talked-about original horror film at home. Inspired by the viral internet mythology and Kane Parsons‘ wildly popular YouTube series, the film follows a therapist who ventures into an eerie labyrinth in search of a missing patient.
Produced for less than $10 million, Backrooms stunned Hollywood with more than $364 million at the worldwide box office, including a record-breaking $81.4 million domestic opening weekend. Now, viewers can experience the phenomenon from home. While Backrooms isn’t available on a monthly streaming subscription yet, viewers can watch through PVOD, with rentals priced at $19.99 and digital purchases available for $24.99 on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV.
