Geetha Singh handcuffed and transported to the police station in the back of a marked SAPS van.
A VIRAL video of a 70-year-old woman’s arrest during an anti-illegal immigration march in Pietermaritzburg has raised concerns about police conduct.
Geetha Singh, who is believed to be a retired teacher, was arrested by police officers during a March and March and Labour and Civic Organisation (LACO) operation on July 10, after members of the public alleged that she was harbouring several undocumented foreign nationals.
Singh was handcuffed and transported to the police station in the back of a marked SAPS van.
However, she was later released without being charged.
