YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday accused the State government of resorting to political vendetta, citing the recent case registered against the son of former Fisheries Minister Seediri AppalarajuAddressing the media, Mr. Jagan said that while the incident was unfortunate, it should be dealt with according to law, the government’s response was politically motivated.“Seediri Appalaraju’s son is just 18-years-old. He was involved in an accident in which a person was hit while driving. I do not support what happened. It is an unfortunate incident,” Mr. Jagan said.He further alleged that the police had initially booked the youth under a homicide charge, which he described as unjustified. He claimed that the court questioned the police over the application of the charge and directed them to alter the relevant sections of law.“The judge himself was shocked and reprimanded the police before directing them to change the sections,” Mr. Jagan alleged.He further claimed that the incident reflected the attitude of the present government towards the fishing community.
