It’s no secret K-beauty is everywhere right now. The cosmetics and skincare space has been flooded with standout K-beauty products, but I feel like people are still sleeping on K-hair care (is that a term? If not, I’m making it one). Now listen, I’m turning 35 this year, and like a lot of aging millennials know, the hair on your head isn’t exactly what it used to be. I’m dealing with some recession, some thinning and definitely not the same full head of hair I took for granted in my 20s. (I’m finally starting to understand the phrase “youth is wasted on the young.”) But before I go booking a flight to Turkey for a hair transplant, I’ve been testing out different products to help with my hair growth journey.Enter: the Bomme Revitalizing scalp toner. Described as a hair therapy designed to promote healthy growth and shine, the leave-in formula is made with plant-based ingredients — including persimmon leaf, green tea leaf and sophora fruit extracts — that’s formulated to promote long-term hair health. The toner bottle features a multi-dropper applicator that helps evenly dispense the liquid onto the scalp. From there, you can gently massage it in with your hands. When not in use, twist it into a locked position to prevent leaks — I found this design to be both effective and reliably leakproof. It comes in a 4.5-ounce bottle for $39, and after about eight weeks of regular use, I still have some left. My husband — completely unaware I’d been using the product — even mentioned (unprovoked, mind you) that my hair was looking fuller, shinier and overall just healthier. I believe he used the word “voluptuous.”And honestly, I agree. I’ve been using it for about two months now, which is right around when the brand says you’ll start to see results. The product didn’t leave my hair feeling greasy or sticky at all. I used it as directed — morning and night as part of my routine — applying it to dry hair before any other products, and it never felt heavy or like it weighed my hair down.Instead, it gave my hair a healthy, natural shine and even made it look a bit fuller — which, as someone starting to notice thinning and hair loss, was more than welcome.Scalp care isn’t something I had really thought much about before, but when you stop and think about it, it makes total sense. We use toner on our face before the rest of our skincare routine — so why wouldn’t we do the same on our scalp to keep our hair healthy and looking its best?In other words, think of this as step one in your hair care routine — which is exactly how I used it.
