Refuting the statements made by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Member of Parliament M. Sribharat released a video message on his social media platforms, stating that the NDA government responded immediately on receiving information about the boat capsizing off the Visakhapatnam Coast, where six fishermen went missing. The MP said that he personally visited the families of the missing fishermen, offered his condolences, and assured them of the government’s full support.Mr. Sribharat said that exploiting such tragedies for political diversion and publicity is deeply unfortunate. He asserted that the people are closely observing what he described as the YSRCP leadership’s political drama and should not be misled by what he termed as ‘opportunistic politics’ carried out in the name of the victims.Referring to the recent road accident in Palasa, the MP alleged that the son of a former minister was responsible for the death of a shepherd and that attempts were being made to shield the actual accused by implicating another individual. He said it was surprising that the former Chief Minister chose not to speak on such a serious issue and is now attempting to portray himself as a champion of fishermen’s welfare.
