Mysuru Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baladandi on Tuesday said discipline, hard work and honesty are the cornerstones of success in competitive examinations and urged aspirants to rely on merit and self-confidence rather than rumours or shortcuts.Addressing candidates after inaugurating the third free mock test for competitive examinations organised by the City Central Library at People’s Park, he said recruitment to government posts is now conducted with a high degree of transparency, with merit being the sole criterion for selection.Encouraging aspirants to remain focused on their preparation, Mr. Baladandi shared his own journey, recalling that he had prepared for the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) examination while serving as a Range Forest Officer (RFO), despite the demanding nature of the job.City Central Library Deputy Director Manjunath B. said the Public Library Department was conducting free coaching and mock tests for competitive examinations for the first time in its history.The initiative has been launched to support candidates preparing for the upcoming Civil Police Constable recruitment examination. The programme, which commenced on July 7, has already completed two mock tests, and eight tests are planned in the series.More than 150 candidates participated in the third mock test held on Tuesday.
