The 16th edition of the DGC junior/sub-junior golf tournament, presented by Usha, concluded at the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) on July 9. Rakshit Dahiya and Yogya Bhalla emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively.Despite inclement weather across all three days, the tournament witnessed the participation of over 162 young golfers, aged between seven and 21, on the Lodhi and Peacock courses.Special prizes recognised standout performances, with champions Rakshit and Yogya also claiming the Longest Drive awards. Vir Daulat Singh, Jyoti Mandal and Vansh Tyagi were felicitated for the Straightest Drive, while spectators were treated to a hole-in-one (on the 7th hole) by Aftab Bakshi on the second day of the tournament. The event concluded with prize presentations across multiple categories to celebrate the achievements of the participants.This year’s tournament witnessed participation from some of India’s most promising young golfers, many of whom are already making their mark on the international circuit. The tournament also reflected the growing popularity of golf as the entries grew from 90 in 2023 to 162 this year.Speaking at the award ceremony, Sonaal Chaudhri, Lady Captain at DGC, said: “The passion, energy and sportsmanship displayed by the participants this year have been truly uplifting.
