German defense manufacturer Rheinmetall has delivered to Ukraine for the first time 155 mm artillery ammunition produced at its new Werk Niedersachsen facility in Unterlues, Lower Saxony.
The company said this in a press release, Ukrinform reports.
"Rheinmetall is delivering artillery ammunition to Ukraine from Unterluess for the first time. Until now, deliveries had come from other sites within the Rheinmetall production network. This first delivery from Unterluess to Ukraine comprises a low five-figure number of projectiles, in addition to propellant charges from other sites," the company said.
Rheinmetall noted that more than half of the order has already been delivered, with the remaining projectiles and propellant charges due to follow by the end of 2026.
