Deutsche Telekom and the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology will coordinate two European Commission-funded projects, PETRUS2 and HarmoniQCI, focused on advancing quantum communication infrastructure across Europe.

PETRUS2 will support coordination of European quantum communication initiatives and future large-scale quantum key distribution deployments, while HarmoniQCI will focus on standardisation and interoperability.

The projects aim to strengthen Europe’s quantum communication ecosystem through collaboration on technical frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and future secure network deployments.

Press release – Deutsche Telekom and the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology are pleased to announce that they have been awarded two new Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs) under the European Commission’s programme on quantum technologies. Deutsche Telekom will coordinate PETRUS2, while AIT will coordinate HarmoniQCI, two complementary projects supporting the development, standardisation, and long-term sustainability of European quantum communication infrastructures.
