A man on a mission to visit every pub in the UK sinks a pint of local brew in his 10,000th pub and admits: 'I'm tired.'But Dale Harvey said he is '100 per cent determined' to see his Great British Pub Crawl through to the end, which he estimates at around 35,000 boozers in total.He arrived at Teuchters in the west end of Edinburgh on Monday for a pint of Pilot, brewed in Leith, a suburb in the north of the city. Mr Harvey, who lives in Nottingham with wife Holly, is part of the Campaign for Real Ale National Executive and in March 2022 his quest began as a hobby, to visit every pub in Nottinghamshire.It has evolved into a nationwide challenge – and his full-time job, to which he devotes four days a week. His journeys across England, Scotland and Wales have generated millions of views on social media, and the advertising revenue pays his expenses.Mr Harvey typically drinks half a pint in each pub, and averages between 15 and 20 pubs per 'working' day.The Nottingham man, who is in his mid-40s, said the milestone was 'surreal', adding: 'When I started four years and three months ago I never expected to reach 10,000.' But as soon as I get back, I'll be straight back on the road and doing it again.'Mr Harvey said that his Google research indicated there are around 35,000 pubs across the UK, though some of the premises he visits will end up closing down later during the journey. Last March, he told Daily Mail columnist Tom Parker Bowles that he hoped to highlight 'all the pubs that are closing' as well as 'the importance of the pub'. Asked if he will see the pub crawl through to the end, he said: 'Absolutely, 100 per cent determined because my wife told me I'd never do it. 'And any time my wife tells me I'll never do something, that makes me 10 times more determined to go through with it.'Raising his pint in Scotland, he said: 'Here's to the next 10,000. I'm certainly not going to stop. I'm not going to slow down.'I'm going to carry on – while there are issues to highlight, I'll be out there doing this.'Mr Harvey has also been trying to publicise the pressures faced by licensed businesses, saying that 'ever-rising costs' are pushing many to the brink.
