Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has backed Eric Chelle to remain in charge of the national team, praising the Franco-Malian tactician’s leadership and the unity he has brought to the squad amid reports that he is set for a contract extension, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Chelle, who was appointed on an initial two-year deal, is currently in the second year of his contract, which is due to expire at the end of the year.
However, the Nigeria Football Federation and the National Sports Commission are reportedly finalising a new agreement that will keep him in charge beyond his current deal.
As reported by PUNCH Sports Extra, the proposed extension is expected to see Chelle earn $100,000 per month while also taking charge of the Olympic Eagles as part of a broader technical restructuring.
