Former Today host Karl Stefanovic has offered a two-fingered salute to unnamed critics who he said can “go f*** themselves” in an interview with Piers Morgan.Stefanovic’s tour of the UK has continued after his podcast interview with far-right agitator Tommy Robinson, aka Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, ended his long career with Channel 9.Having had Morgan on his podcast The Karl Stefanovic Show last week, the now-independent broadcaster has returned the favour by appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored. In a preview of the yet-to-air interview set to drop this week, Stefanovic said he stood by the Robinson episode and hit out at unnamed critics in the short clip posted to social media.“I’ve got too much to do,” the Australian broadcaster said. “Too much I want to do.“Those people aren’t working in the industry anymore so they can …” he said, putting up two middle fingers and adding, “you know what I’m saying?”The edit did not make it immediately clear who Stefanovic was talking about. “I really want to say it,” Stefanovic continued as Morgan pressed him to speak his mind: “Go on, we’re uncensored”.“Well they can go f*** themselves,” Stefanovic said, adding with a laugh, “Can you edit that?”In an X post, UK media personality Morgan said his guest would be chatting “about his time on Australia’s Today show coming to an end after 20 years – and his thoughts on Anthony Albanese”.The preview showed the duo discussing Mr Albanese’s recent appearance on the Bush Deep podcast with comedian Nikki Osborne, with some of his comments sparking controversy.Mr Albanese was asked to play the game “shag, marry or date” with iconic Australians Minogue, Nicole Kidman and Rhonda Burchmore as the options.“I’ve just got married, I’m only six months in …” he replied, but was pressed for an answer by Osborne who fired back, “But if it goes t*ts up?”“Kylie, clearly,” Mr Albanese said.“You’d marry Kylie? And shag her? And date her?” Osborne asked. Mr Albanese answered: “All of the above. She’s terrific.”The Prime Minister apologised “unequivocally for the comments” last Monday after they became a political flashpoint, with fellow parliamentarians labelling them “beneath” his office.Stefanovic claimed Mr Albanese’s decision to appear on Bush Deep was hypocritical after the Prime Minister remarked “words do matter” for prominent people upon Stefanovic’s departure from Nine.Mr Albanese had also suggested Stefanovic’s podcast, which has featured several controversial guests, had strayed toward the “edges of what is mainstream political debate in this country”.The Labor leader was among the early guests on Stefanovic’s podcast, which launched in late 2025, appearing in a February episode.Morgan asked Stefanovic how it was “any different” for the Australian leader to accept an interview on a comedy podcast while “he’s criticising you for being out of the mainstream political debate”. “For a Prime Minister of a country like Australia to be as coarse as he was on camera about a national treasure like Kylie I thought was given what he’d said about you … How is that any different?” he asked.Stefanovic responded, “No, that’s what stung most because I do think the only way through … discourse is the way through. “And I think you’ve got to hear these voices, however you prosecute them and you prosecute like a wild man. “But I think that we’ve got to have a media landscape now that does present these stories and, and however you present them, if you don’t like my show, then don’t watch, right? “If you don’t like the interview, then don’t watch. But I’m going to continue interviewing people because I want to hear what they’re made of, what makes them so popular, why they can be a driving force in the place like the UK. “I stand by Tommy Robinson,” he continued. “I mean, I bet you’ve tried to get him on I bet.” Morgan replied that Robinson – a polarising figure even within the right of politics in the UK – was “a bit scared” of him.Stefanovic’s interview with Robsinon was pulled down from his platforms a day after its release in June and remains unavailable on his YouTube and streaming sites.
