The African Union Commission has invited the Edo State Commissioner for Power, Paul Usenbo, to serve as an inspirational speaker and panellist at the Founder Stage of the Joint 9th Specialised Technical Committee on Finance and the 5th STC on Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals.
The forum will be held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from July 20 to 24, 2026, and is expected to bring together African heads of government, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs and development partners to discuss industrialisation, trade and sustainable development across the continent, according to a statement on Monday.
The statement stated that according to the invitation, the African Union Commission identified Edo State’s power sector reforms as one of the initiatives contributing to discussions on energy, investment, and industrial development.
The commission said the state had demonstrated innovation, strategic leadership and investment-driven governance in advancing Africa’s industrialisation and energy sovereignty objectives.
