A fire at a Bangkok pub killed 27 people and injured 18 others, prompting an investigation into the cause and the venue’s compliance with safety regulations.
The cause of the fire in a bar in Chatuchak district remains under investigation, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration said on its Facebook page. Of the 18 people injured, eight are in critical conditions, it said.The city will review the pub’s operating permits and inspect whether it complied with building and fire safety standards. Authorities will focus on the number and condition of emergency exits, the visibility of exit signs and whether evacuation routes were obstructed.
