The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces targeted an Iranian submarine and a naval vessel maintenance facility yesterday using suicide maritime drones.
Publishing a video on Monday, July 13, CENTCOM stated that, during the operation, three Corsair-type uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) struck the naval base at Bandar Abbas. According to the command, this marked the first time U.S. forces had used maritime drones in a combat operation.
The CENTCOM statement added that last night’s strikes had degraded Iran’s ability to continue attacking commercial vessels.
