The University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science (Penn Engineering) today announced the launch of the new online Master of Science in Engineering in Technology and Innovation (MSE-TI), a graduate degree designed for engineers and other technical professionals seeking to deepen their expertise while expanding their ability to define, build and lead technology-driven products and systems across organizations and industries.
Launching in Spring 2027 and currently accepting applications, the fully online program is designed for those who want to remain deeply technical while broadening their ability to operate across engineering, product, communication and organizational contexts.
Expanding What Engineers Can Do
“Many engineers reach a point in their careers where technical expertise alone isn’t the challenge,” says Jeffrey Babin, MSE-TI Program Director, Practice Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, Associate Director of Engineering Entrepreneurship, and Engineering Faculty Director of Venture Lab.
“The challenge is understanding how to translate that expertise into products, decisions, and outcomes that create value. MSE-TI was designed to help engineers expand their impact while remaining deeply grounded in engineering.”
