They have had to be patient, but Rassie Erasmus has been true to his word, and the four fit players in the Bok squad yet to taste action this year will do so on Saturday in Durban.

It is seniors Ruben van Heerden and Carlu Sadie, and youngsters Jaco Williams and Vusi Moyo who have been threaded into an otherwise experienced Springbok team that should have too much firepower for Wales at Kings Park (kick-off 5.40pm) in a Nations Championship clash.

“We have been giving opportunities to players since we got together before the Barbarians match; now it is the guys who have been in camp for seven weeks helping the Test team of the week, who get their shot,” the Springbok coach said. “It is only fair.

“There is a group of guys with niggles that are close, but common sense tells us we must hold off for another week. In that group are Siya Kolisi, Eben Etzebeth, Franco Mostert and Lood de Jager. We feel the right game for them is the away friendly against Argentina (on August 8).”
