…Condemns abduction of passengers on Otukpo–Makurdi road

Senator David Mark, National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has condemned the latest wave of killings in Benue and Plateau states, describing the sustained bloodshed as intolerable and urging the federal government to take immediate, decisive action to end the violence.

Reacting to the reported killing of about 16 people in Otukpo, Benue State, and nine others in Riyom, Plateau State, by suspected armed militias, Mark described the attacks as barbaric, reprehensible and a direct assault on the sanctity of human life.

In a statement issued on Monday by Kola Ologbondiyan, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the former Senate President also expressed deep concern over the reported hijacking of a fully loaded Benue Links bus along the Otukpo–Taraku–Makurdi Road, where armed men allegedly abducted all the passengers into the bush.

He called for an immediate, coordinated search-and-rescue operation to secure the safe release of the victims.
