His death came shortly after he returned from Ukraine, where he had met with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Following his passing, a 2022 C-SPAN interview clip of Mr Graham, an ally of Donald Trump, has resurfaced. In the clip, he called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to be 'taken out' or sent to the Hague. Mr Graham also urged the Russian people to 'rise up and end this reign of terror'.
