The Mehr News Agency reported that several explosions were heard near the city of Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island on Monday afternoon, July 13, 2026. According to the report, various news sources and residents reported hearing the blasts. Mehr noted that the sounds of the explosions were heard from some distance outside the city and appeared to originate from the western coast of Bandar Abbas.

The news agency also suggested that the explosions might be linked to the ongoing clashes in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. In response to these reports, the Hormozgan Governor’s Office announced that no civilian casualties or damage to residential or commercial infrastructure had been reported so far following the new U.S. attacks on Bandar Abbas and Qeshm.
