A suspected e-bike fire in Blackpool has claimed the life of a second teen, 19-year-old Joey Gregory who had been in hospital battling for his life following the devastating blaze on June 3014:05, 13 Jul 2026A 19-year-old has died after a suspected e-bike fire in Blackpool which had already claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy.Joey Gregory, 19, was hospitalized with brain injuries after the blaze but sadly his mother said they were "too catastrophic for him to survive".The fire broke out at Redcar Road in Blackpool on June 30. Joey's death comes days after the passing of 13-year-old Coby Keogh who also died from serious injuries sustained in the fire.Joey's parents shared the devastating news on Facebook, Lancs Live reports. In an an emotional tribute, his mum Sally wrote: "Later today we are going to say our final goodbyes to our wonderful son Joey Gregory. His brain injuries are too catastrophic for him to survive."We were asked our thoughts on organ donation. We said yes."They said that's good because your son opted in when he was aged 17. They have found four recipients to receive Joey's kidneys, liver, pancreas and his big beautiful heart.""This pain is eased by the fact that our son may save 4 other lives."Sally described her son as a "hero" and asked people to "pray that our boys final duty is successful". She wrote: "He will then be forever loved by another four families."She also asked for prayers of strength for her daughter Mia Rose, adding: "Please please pray for our beautiful daughter Mia Rose that she continues to find strength from the wonderful people we have around us."Life will never be the same."Joey's dad Harry also paid tribute to his son, saying: "Rest in peace my little blue eyed boy… I'll love and miss you forever.. Now it's time to do God's work."Thank you for everyone's support I love you all I truly do."Emergency services were called to Redcar Road in Blackpool at around 9.37am on June 30 following reports of a fire. Coby was taken to hospital following the blaze but sadly died five days later.Before Joey's death, Sally had shared updates as her son continued to fight for his life. She previously wrote: "We were told on Tuesday that the first 24-48 hours were critical. Then they said 72..... We are on day five and my boy is still here."Keep fighting sunshine, we ain't going nowhere. We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends. My boy is so loved. I don't know where we are finding the strength from. Please keep praying."Three other people inside the property suffered minor injuries. Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are investigating the fire.Article continues belowOfficers have said there is no evidence of third-party involvement and believe the blaze was started by an e-bike.A GoFundMe page set up to raise money for Joey's family has collected more than £11,600 in donations.
