The National Prosecuting Authority says it has a solid case despite alleged Pretoria tender tycoon and criminal suspect Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala withdrawal from his highly anticipated plea and sentence agreement with the state.

NPA national spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago, said the agreement is now void, and Matlala will rejoin his 16 co-accused when the corruption trial resumes on 11 September.

The NPA says it has sufficient evidence to prosecute all 17 accused.
