Noise cancellation is the reason Bose has led the flagship ANC headphone category since the QuietComfort 3 launched in 2006. The QC Ultra 2nd Gen maintains that lead with an updated ActiveSense algorithm that adjusts the strength of cancellation in real time based on your environment, whether you’re on a plane, in a coffee shop, or walking down a busy sidewalk. A total of 10 microphones in and around the earcups handle both cancellation and voice pickup for calls.
Sound quality on the QC Ultra 2nd Gen comes from the same drivers as the first-generation model, tuned with an updated internal processing pipeline for tighter bass response and cleaner high frequencies. Cinema Mode is a new spatial audio setting that widens the soundstage during movies and shows, pushing dialogue toward the center of the mix so spoken lines stay clear over explosions and background music. Immersion Mode also carries over from the first generation for spatial music playback.
